Northway Academy provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children and youth with autism and other needs in day programs across Minnesota. Our dedicated team of licensed behavioral health clinicians helps the children we serve develop the social, communication and life skills they need to live their best lives.
Person-Centered Support
Northway Academy meets children where they are. Our therapists get to know each child and their unique needs and goals, and what living well means for them and their family. We create a plan of service just for them, with supports tailored to their needs and goals. Services include:
- Assessment of behaviors keeping a child from thriving at home, school and in the community
- Assessment of basic language and learning skills (ABLLS-R)
- Skill development and training in communication, daily living, play, and social skills

What is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is an evidence-based practice that has been used for more than 40 years to understand behavior and help people make positive changes to improve their quality of life. Therapists work with the child to improve skills such as:
- Communication
- Social skills
- Motor skills
- Learning
- Self care
ABA therapists assess each child’s strengths and areas for growth so we can understand why certain behaviors happen and what supports can help. ABA can lead to growth in many areas of life, helping children to make friends, develop daily living skills and thrive in school. The Northway Academy team is here to support each child and their family, whatever challenges they face.
Trained ABA Therapists
Our trained ABA practitioners, known as Board Certified Behavior Analysts, are caring people committed to helping children build the skills they need to grow. We work one on one with children and their families to help them reach their goals. We’re here each step of the way as children make progress and as their needs change to help ensure they get the support they need to thrive.
